Columbus Discovers Nelson
Popular, high-end New Zealand chain, Columbus Coffee is opening a café at Fashion Island Nelson.
Columbus Coffee opened the doors to their first café in Auckland’s High Street in 1995. Today, there are nearly 30 Columbus Coffee cafes across New Zealand and the brand is synonymous with providing seriously good coffee and food, and first class service.
Fashion Island Retail Manager, Nicola Dolan says Columbus Coffee is the perfect addition to the centre.
“We’re thrilled to have Columbus Coffee here at Fashion Island. Aside from serving fantastic coffee and food, Columbus Coffee is child friendly and is sure to appeal to our customers looking for a relaxing respite from shopping!” Nicola says.
Columbus Coffee Operations Manager, Nathan Bonney says the company has been looking for a suitable Nelson location for some time.
“Nelson has a great café culture and we believe Columbus Coffee will add another dimension to the café scene. The Fashion Island location really appeals – it fits with the Columbus Coffee ethos of providing quality coffee and food in a relaxing environment,” Nathan says.
Columbus Coffee will open on the site of the former Cocoon Café in early November. The café will be managed by Julz Staal together with an enthusiastic team of 11 staff, including Columbus Coffee-trained baristas!
